Saint Michael the Archangel Cross Stitch Pattern

This famous, and highly effective, prayer is a part of our evening prayers. I created this simple cross stitch sampler for my children to work.

The prayer is 139 stitches wide by 165 stitches high. In 18 count Aida cloth (which has 18 little squares to the inch) the finished piece will measure 7 3/4 inches by 9 1/8 inches. In 12 count Aida Cloth, it will measure just over 11 1/2 inches by 13 3/4 inches. Some extra cloth on all sides will be needed to frame the prayer, so purchase cloth a few inches larger all around than the dimensions quoted here.

Use whatever colours of thread you'd like, to co-ordinate with your own decor. Two shades for the border will enhance the twisted appearance.

In order to obtain a clear image to print, the chart is in four pieces. Print out each piece and tape them together with clear or invisible tape.
