Domestic-Church.Com - Fridge Art - Bible Games

In fourth grade, the students at our local school receive a copy of a New Testament. Unfortunately though, from what I can gather, they have no idea how to use it since no one ever teaches them.

So, I came up with five games using their version of the New Testament (since the answers could change from one version to another). The games below use the Revised Standard Version Bible. If you don't have that version of the Bible in your home, or you want to create more of these games for your children, use the Bible you have and follow the general outline of these games. You could draw or paste in biblical illustrations to make a whole book of Bible games if you wanted.

(PS For those you you with a bit of cash to spare, a Bible on CD with a search function makes creating these games very, very easy. Bible CD's are also good for lots of other research as well.)

Match The Verses

Draw a line to match the biblical reference with a verse.

Matt. 1:23 And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and when they had made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic lay.
Mark 1:17 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
Luke 1:27 Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"
John 1:29 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
Matt. 4:7 And said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
Mark 2:4 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "He who through faith is righteous shall live."
Luke 5:30 And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
John 2:11 God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
Acts 1:11 "Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel" (which means, God with us).
Rom. 1:17 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
1Cor. 2:10 And Jesus said to them, "Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men."
Phil. 2:8 To a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

CrossWords

The second game is a crossword puzzle: there are about 15 words to find. Instead of definition clues, I provide a biblical reference; the kids just have to find a word from that verse to match the number of letters and the letters already filled in.
