Come and Listen

Peter Fournier and Catherine Fournier

Domestic-Church.Com - Invite the Fourniers to Speak

As this dynamic, talented and knowledgeable couple draw on the writings of Pope John Paul II, especially Familiaris Consortio and the Theology of the Body, their experience as youth and adult educators and - last but not least - the raising and educating of their own six children in the Faith to inspire, encourage and advise parents on how to create a Catholic culture of the home.

Peter and Catherine Fournier, founders of www.domestic-church.com the largest Catholic family web site on the Internet and authors of the popular "In the Domestic Church" family resource series published by Ignatius Press, are available as speakers for your parish, diocese or organization.

Talks include the following:

Celebrating Advent in the Domestic Church

The successive lighting of the candles in an Advent wreath introduces the traditions that create a Catholic culture in the home and preserve Advent as a season of preparation, penance and anticipation.

Observing Lent in the Domestic Church

The Stations of the Cross present many opportunities to deepen family faith throughout this great 'teaching' season while calling fathers to embrace their role as priests and prophets of the family more fully.

The Family is a School of Love

Creating a Catholic culture of the home, bringing our Faith to life in our homes and families takes HEART; Hospitality, Ethos, Authority, Respect and Teaching

Conscience and Formation

We do not give our children a conscience, rather we help them form their own by first teaching them how to listen and then what and who to listen to.

Love and Forgiveness in the Catholic Family

We ask God to "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." The greatest trespasses, the greatest need for forgiveness and the greatest opportunities to surrender ourselves to God's forgiveness all occur within our families.

Marriage Preparation and the Theology of the Body

Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body offers us a new way to understand and respect the meaning of marriage, first by understanding that it is "written" in our very bodies.

God's Rakes; How NFP Brought Us into the Church

There is a classic slapstick gag involving a rake left lying tines-side-up in the grass. Sometimes God's Truth acts like one (or more!) of those rakes, delivering a message that's hard to ignore.

Details

We are happy to tailor a presentation for your specific audience or prepare a presentation on a requested topic.

Though our talks benefit from presenting both the husband and wife, father and mother perspective and we recommend inviting us both, we are both available to give these presentations solo.

For a large event, such as a conference:

We request a speaking stipend of $750 for one to two talks and $250 each for any subsequent talks. We also request a table for book sales.

Sponsoring organization will also pay travel expenses, including if necessary car rental and hotel. Speakers will make their own travel and lodging arrangements. However, we are more than willing to be billeted at a host's home.

Stipend is payable upon completion of talk, expenses may be reimbursed after receipts are provided.

For a smaller event, such as a parish evening presentation:

We request a speaking stipend of $500 for one talk.

Since travel and accommodation can be expensive for a smaller group to afford, we offer an alternative arrangement; a speaking "tour" to give a series of talks to parishes, home schooling or school groups in your area over several days. Each venue then covers a portion of our travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, we are more than willing to be billeted at a host's home.

An area coordinator or committee is required to arrange the speaking events and coordinate payment of stipends and reimbursement of expenses.
