The Franciscan Crown

This devotion is also known as the Rosary of the Seven Joys of Mary.
These seven joys are:
- The Annunciation
- The Visitation
- The Birth of Our Lord
- The Adoration of the Magi
- The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple
- The Resurrection of Our Lord
- The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and Her Coronation in Heaven
Used by the members of the three orders of Saint Francis, the Franciscan Crown begins with the Apostles' Creed, the Our Father, and three Hail Marys as usual, and then consists of seven decades made up of one Our Father and ten Hail Marys.
The Joys of Mary are introduced after the word "Jesus" in the first Hail Mary of the decade. For example: "...the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, whom you joyfully conceived".
At the end of the seventh decade, two extra Hail Marys are added to make a total of 72—the apocryphal age of the Blessed Virgin at the time of her Assumption. The Franciscan Crown then concludes with the usual Hail, Holy Queen.
