The Memorare is a beautiful prayer of trust in and devotion to the Queen of Heaven. This cross-stitch prayer does not take long to complete, and it makes a beautiful addition to a child's room.

You can choose whatever colors that you prefer and that complement the color scheme of your home; the chart keys are suggestions only.

How to Do Cross-Stitch

Bring the thread through at the lower right hand side; insert the needle one block up and one block to the left, and bring out one block down—thus forming a half cross. Continue in this way to the end of the row. Complete the upper half of the cross as shown. Cross-stitch may be worked either from right to left or left to right, but it is important that the upper stroke of all crosses lie in the same direction.

How to Do Running- or Stem-Stitch

Work this stitch to form the letter ing of the design. As shown, bring the needle up through one hole (the fabric (1) and down through the second hole along the line of the design (2). Bring the needle back up through the middle hole (3). Continue stitching by inserting the needle two blocks ahead and bringing it up one block back.

How to Do Back-Stitch

Work this stitch around the cross-stitch letters, if you wish. The method for back stitch is similar to that for running-stitch. As shown, bring the needle up through one hole of the fabric (1) and down through the first hole away from the direction of your stitching (2). Bring the needle back up two blocks ahead (3). Continue by putting the needle down through your first hole and back up two blocks forward.
